CHARLOTTE…
“Growing up in the northeast I began making artwork ever since I could hold a crayon. Studying psychology, along with my artistic identity, made art and the brain that much more unified. I recognize each as I would two different syllables of the same word.”
SKYGGE…
“Skygge pronounced ‘Sku-Geh’ directly translates to shadow. In a sense, skygge can also refer to a ghost or trailing absence of light. Art work, like anything, exists with and without the presence of light. A shadow may be without light and still has so much value. My artistic identity, style and direction is largely influenced by this phenomenon.”
Embracing inevitable shadows…
“My more personal work is inspired by dark mysticism and natural dualities of life. I consider a shadow to be one of life’s many cross-sections. It’s hard to truly understand and appreciate life without fully embracing all sides. Skygge is a nod to life’s parallels, waiting to be recognized and celebrated.
My Danish heritage not only helped solidify my artistic identity but also encouraged me to pursue a greater understanding of my shadows. With that, I continue to explore curiosities that are less embraced by society. From doubt and anger to metaphysical concepts and paranormal reality.”
I’m currently available for custom pieces, collaborations and community based engagements. I can be contacted via email or social media @chrltt.jpg
